Anna Sielawko Engineering Scholarship Fund

Anna Sielawko immigrated to the United States from Poland when she was a young girl and attended New Britain Public Schools. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Hartford and a Master of Science in Engineering and Finance from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute.

Anna began her career as an engineer with ABB Combustion Engineering and worked for 17 years in various project management and engineering positions that included Nuclear Power plants, Nuclear Submarines, Titan Rockets, and Space Shuttle Vehicles. After achieving her personal dream of traveling the world, Anna joined Merrill Lynch in its Global Wealth Management Group in Hartford and became a Financial Advisor in order to help individuals, families, and small businesses plan and manage their finances and investments.

Anna decided to establish a scholarship fund at the Community Foundation in order to give back to the community where she grew up.

“I attended New Britain Schools and have always had a passion for engineering. I hope this scholarship will assist students with the same passion to further their education,” said Anna.

The Anna Sielawko Engineering Scholarship Fund will be available to graduating seniors or previous graduates of New Britain High School who are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university in the field of engineering. Students must have an average of C+ or better and display financial need.
