Walnut Hill
Rose Garden Endowment Fund

Restored in 2010, the Walnut Hill Rose Garden is privately funded by donations and maintained solely by community volunteers. The Walnut Hill Rose Garden showcases more than 850 roses ranging in variety, color and fragrance selected to represent the diverse community of New Britain and the surrounding area. Home to over 100 varieties of roses, including hybrid tea, grandiflora and English varieties, the Garden features four wrought iron climbing trellis made from local recycled materials. Contributions to the Walnut Hill Rose Garden Endowment Fund will support the long-term needs and care of the Rose Garden into perpetuity.
Our Story
As a non-profit, volunteer organization, The Friends of Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden was started in the Spring of 2009 to restore and maintain the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden. Working together with the New Britain Parks and Recreation Department and coordinating volunteer efforts from local residents, community organizations and the University of Connecticut Master Gardener program, our organization's mission is to connect and unite residents through the therapeutic art and joy of gardening at the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden, restoring and reviving vital urban green space in New Britain.
