Scholarships

As chair of the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee, I am pleased to welcome you to our Scholarships Home Page. As an educator who has worked with both high school seniors and college students, I fully appreciate the value of providing financial support to them in the pursuit of a college degree.  The generosity of our donors benefits not only the deserving recipients and their families but also society as a whole.  At this time, the Foundation manages 40 separate scholarship funds. While most of these are traditional scholarships for high schools seniors, others are provided for students beyond high school who may already be enrolled in college or are returning to college.

Scholarship funds at the Community Foundation were created by people and organizations of all types. In addition to providing the funding, our donors have identified the criteria used for selection. Some scholarships are specific to targeted high schools or fields of study. Some are a tribute to the character, values, and contributions of the person or people for whom they are named.

Due to the many variations in the requirements and criteria for each scholarship, we urge students to work closely with their Guidance Counselors to learn of available scholarships. For additional information Click here.

Despite the number of scholarship funds, the need for financial assistance grows each year as the economy fluctuates and as education costs increase. We urge our faithful donors, as well as first-time donors, to consider making a gift to any of the scholarship funds at the Foundation.
