The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has announced the appointment of a new member to its Board of Directors, the Rev. Victoria Triano, as well as a new Director of Finance and Administration, Joseph Rivero Baker.
The Rev. Triano, of Southington, has been a member of the Southington Town Council for the past 15 years and is a past Council chairperson. She is the director of pastoral care at Southington Care Center.
Mr. Baker, a resident of North Haven, has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit finance and administration, much of it in the United Way family. Prior to joining the Foundation, he served for three years as executive director of the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford. Mr. Baker has also held management positions with the United Way of Northern Fairfield County, the United Way of Connecticut, Fellowship Place in New Haven and the Massachusetts Senior Action Council. “The Rev. Triano’s many years of experience serving the Southington community will be a wonderful plus for our board, and Mr. Baker’s extensive, high-quality background in nonprofit finance ensures that the safeguarding of Foundation assets remains in good hands,” said Donna C. Lasher, chairperson of the Board of Directors.
