Community Foundations Respond to Southern California Wildfires

Funds Established to Assist Fire Victims

(October 29, 2007) A variety of community foundations serving Southern California have established dedicated funds to assist victims of last week’s tragic wildfires in San Diego County and beyond, which caused the evacuation of more than half a million California residents, more than $1 billion in damages and the destruction of nearly 2,000 homes.

“Our hearts go out to all those tragically impacted by the California wildfires, and we heartily encourage our friends and neighbors in Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington who wish to help to give generously,” said Community Foundation of Greater New Britain President Jim Williamson.
