Community Foundation Launches Rejuvenated Website; Visitors May Donate Online
(August 21, 2007) The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has launched a redesigned and rejuvenated website with a variety of features, including new content and the option for visitors to make donations directly online.
Visitors to the site (www.cfgnb.org) may click the Donate Now icon on the site’s home page, which links to a page in the site’s Giving section offering instructions for filling out an online donation form and various fund options a donor may consider. Donors may contribute to any of the Foundation’s more than 140 funds, including funds that support Foundation operations, designated funds, field of interest funds, donor advised funds, discretionary funds or scholarship funds. All online donations are tax deductible and VeriSign secured.
The Giving section features a wealth of information on philanthropy, including detailed sections on Ways to Give, Establishing a Fund, Types of Funds, Tips on Giving Wisely and information on how the Foundation manages its endowment and invests its assets. A section dedicated to Professional Advisors includes comprehensive information to help financial advisors, estate attorneys and similar consultants advise their clients.
The new website has detailed background on the Foundation; descriptions of the Foundation’s various initiatives, including the Early Childhood Development Initiative, Catalyst Fund, Celebrate Our Communities! awards program and the Development Consortium of Greater New Britain; current year news releases and an archive of past news releases; PDF versions of Foundation publications, including annual reports, donor reports and brochures; a Grants and Scholarships section including information on how to apply for a grant and a listing of available scholarships; and an Our Stories section that includes a variety of feature stories and photos about the people and programs that the Foundation supports.
Established in 1941, the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain connects donors who care with causes that matter in Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington. It does this by raising resources and developing partnerships that make a measurable improvement in the quality of life in each of these communities.
