Community Foundation of Greater New Britain Elects 2007-2008 Officers
(May 7, 2007) At its recent 66th annual meeting, the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain board of directors elected its slate of officers for the 2007-2008 year, including a new chair-elect.
Reelected for her second year as chair of the Foundation was Donna C. Lasher, vice president of New Britain-based OKAY Industries and a member of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain board of directors since 2002. Also reelected were vice chair Charles W. Bauer, partner, Michalik, Bauer, Silvia & Ciccarillo, LLP, New Britain; treasurer Dr. Charles N. Leach, Jr., retired cardiologist at New Britain General Hospital; and secretary James G. Williamson, president of the Community Foundation, who is a non-board member.
Elected to serve as vice chair and chair-elect was Louis G. (Gerry) Amodio, Jr., vice president and chief operating officer of Amodio Worldwide Moving & Storage, Inc., New Britain. In accordance with Foundation bylaws, the chair-elect is eligible to assume the position of Foundation chair upon the conclusion of the current chair’s term, subject to board approval. Lasher’s two-year period of service concludes in 2008.
A member of the Foundation board since 2002, Amodio has chaired the Grants Committee for the past two years, and is a current member of the Governance, Finance/Investment and Building Committees. He and his wife, Lisa, are also members of the Foundation’s Catalyst Fund giving circle initiative.
In addition, Lasher, Dr. Leach and Amodio, Jr., were re-elected to new three-year terms as members of the board. Also re-elected to new three-year board terms were the Rev. Hugh Penney, minister emeritus, South Congregational-First Baptist Church, New Britain, and Andrew Meade, retired president and chief executive officer, Lori Lock, Inc., Southington.
