American Savings Foundation New Britain Fourth of July Fund, $5,000
From the Alix W. Stanley Discretionary Fund for a one-time grant to support the 2011 "Great American Boom" July 4th fireworks display.

Attendance Works, $30,000
From the Alix W. Stanley Discretionary Fund to participate in a Chronic Absence Initiative aimed at strengthening the ability of schools, communities and parents to work together to improve school attendance in New Britain.

Bread for Life, $18,443
From the Andrews-Hicks, Joseph A. Mlynarski, M.D. Memorial, Robert A. and Phyllis T. Mugford, Spencer P. Torell and A.W. Stanley Discretionary Funds for technology upgrades that will enable the organization to operate more efficiently and productively.

Capital Workforce Partners, 1:1 matching grant of $15,000
From the Anonymous, William T. Livingston Memorial and Howland P. Rogers Family Funds for year-four support of the Future Workforce Investment System in New Britain.

Central Connecticut Association for Retarded Citizens, $13,350
From the Con-Fed Charitable, Ronald and Alice Gilrain, Ted and Nancy Johnson and A.W. Stanley Discretionary Funds for capacity building to continue CCARCs strategic planning process aimed at improving its business model and increasing organizational stability.

Connecticut Council for Philanthropy, $7,508 

From the First Years First and William E. Attwood, Jr. Funds for three separate grants:  1) to fund a partnership with other Connecticut funders and the State of Connecticut to implement Senate Bill 1103 (now known as PA 11-181) to develop a coordinated early childhood system that engages and responds to the needs of parents and communities ($5,000);  2) for second year participation of the CFGNB in the Connecticut Network of Community Foundation Joint Funding/Advocacy project ($1,124); and  3) for third year participation of the CFGNB in the Connecticut Network of Community Foundation Joint Funding/Advocacy Project ($1,384).

Community Memtal Health Affiliates (CMHA), $25,000
From the A.W. Stanley Discretionary Fund to help launch a new school-based behavioral health treatment model for New Britain children and families.

Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS), $15,000
From the A.W. Stanley Discretionary Fund to bring financial education classes to 320 residents of Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington through CAHS' CT Money School.

Connecticut Legal Services, $15,000
From the A.W. Stanley Discretionary Fund to provide services to those at risk of becoming homeless through CLS' new Housing Support and Legal Education Project.

Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, $25,000
From the William H. Judd, Jr., Francis P. Parker, Alix W. Stanley Charitable and A.W. Stanley Discretionary Funds to support implementation of the first year of a collaboration between the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and the New Britain Symphony.

Consolidated School District of New Britain, $9,450
From the Louis G. and Ada C. Amodio Fund for Children, A.W. Stanley Discretionary, Anna Thornton, and Jeannette Elizabeth Westlake Memorial Funds to replicate an after-school program at Gaffney School aimed at improving academic performance, increasing attendance and decreasing negative behavior.

Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington, $20,000
From the First Years First Fund to support year-4 of the Family Resource Center in Southington.

Foodshare, $35,000
From the Anna T. Deutsch and A.W. Stanley Discretionary Funds to support the 2012 Partnership Fund.

Friendship Service Center, $15,000
From the Walter H. Dickman and Johnstone Vance Memorial Funds to support an increased demand for food and emergency shelter from the community's poor and homeless.

Futures, $5,000
From the A.W. Stanley Discretionary Fund to purchase an inventory control system for Good Causes Gifts, a program of Futures located in Berlin that provides employment for individuals with disabilities from Berlin and New Britain.

Greater New Britain Arts Alliance, $15,000
From the Alix W. Stanley Discretionary Fund to support the short term goals of the organization as well as planning activities focused on long term sustainability.

Human Resources Agency of New Britain, $20,000
From the Johnstone Vance Memorial Fund to support the replication of a successful Budget Coaching model in New Britain aimed at strengthening financial literacy services for low-to-moderate income level people so they can move closer to self-sufficiency.

Human resources Agency of New Britain, $10,000
From the Catalyst and A.W. Stanley Discretionary Funds to 1) increase financial literacy among low-to-moderate income individuals by training 20 volunteer budget coaches to deliver one-on-one budget coaching to 20 clients; and 2) train 15 staff from multiple agencies to deliver FDIC's Money Smarts 10-session workshops to at least 150 individuals from Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington.

From the First Years First Fund to support improvement and growth of the Central Connecticut Family Literacy Center.

Main Street Singers, $3,000
From the Justus S. and Lillian F. Beach, Charles L. Munford, Jr., Memorial, Howland P. Rogers Family and Marjorie Wright Tomlinson Funds to support the Community Choirs Program at elementary schools in New Britain and Plainville.

New Britain Academy of Health Professions, $25,000
From the Georgia Knapp Thomson, Spencer P. Torell and Elizabeth J. Berry Funds to fund the consultant position associated with the project for year-4 operations.

New Britain Food Security Collaborative, $10,000
From the Johnstone Vance Memorial Fund for third year support of the New Britain Food and Resource Center.

New Britain Industrial Museum, up to $10,000
From the Vic and Jane Darnell, J. Edward and Justine B. Melson Family, A.W. Stanley Discretionary and the Weld Fund for Capital Needs Funds to build the Museum's capacity in two ways: 1) up to $6,000 as a 1:2 match against money raised through the Museum's first annual appeal to support salary in order to bring the Museum's first paid staff person from part-time to full-time, and 2) $4,000 for computer hardware and software upgrades needed to enable more than one person to access the database and increase office efficiency.

New Britain Museum of American Art, $50,000
From the Susie and Charles Gustin Memorial, Alix W. Stanley Discretionary and Talcott Stanley Funds to support the Education and Outreach program.

Queen Ann Nzinga Center, $20,000
From the Anna T. Deutsch, Joan and Charles Leach, Marshall A. Pease Memorial and Alix W. Stanley Discretionary Funds to support a first time collaboration between QANC and Trinity-on-Main that will help both to grow and reach underserved populations.

Town of Southington, Parks and Recreation Department, $10,000
From the Alix W. Stanley Discretionary Fund to provide the last amount of funding needed to complete an outdoor pavilion for community use in Southington ($10,000 requested).

Plainville Community Food Pantry, $15,000
From the Johnstone Vance Memorial Fund to help meet an increased demand for services and support new programs aimed at helping clients financially and nutritionally.

Southington-Cheshire Community YMCAs, $20,000
From the A.W. Stanley Discretionary Fund to implement "Livestrong at the Y," a new exercise program for cancer survivors aimed at helping them regain strength and endurance following their treatment.

Southington Education Foundation, $5,000
From the A.W. Stanley Discretionary Fund as a challenge match to fund mini-grants to teachers within the Southington School District.

Ten-Year Plan to End Homelessness, $20,000
From the A.W. Stanley Discretionary and Johnstone Vance Memorial Funds to support the salary of the Liaison and to act as a 1:1 match to support the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program.

Tunxis Community College, up to $25,000
From the First Years First Fund to support year-6 of the Early Childhood Professional Educators' Consortium.

United Way of Southington, up to $20,000
From the Alix W. Stanley Discretionary Fund for a strategic planning process aimed at increasing revenue for use in the Southington community.
