Supporting the Community

For more than fifty years, the Junior League of Greater New Britain has been committed to building better communities.  The volunteer impact of our League is substantial, but we need your help.  Your donation, large or small, will assist in training volunteers, funding local projects and providing scholarships for area students.  This financial support will help ensure that the Junior League will continue serving the needs of the Greater New Britain Community.

In 2008, JLGNB completed the basement renovation of the Plainville Group Home known as L.I.S.A. serving teenage girls who have been displaced from their homes.  The refurbished space provides residents with a positive environment for academic study as well as space for small group activities.  Other recent League efforts include: providing monthly birthday treats for Pathways Senderos students; hosting the “Parade of Spooks” at the New Britain Public Library; hand-tied baby blankets for at-risk newborns at the Hospital of Central CT; “Stuff-the-Bus” event which translated into an abundance of non-perishable food and groceries for five Greater New Britain food pantries; managing the baggage tent at the CT Race in the Park; and presenting our annual scholarships.
