Workshops for Nonprofits on Cost Sharing Strategies
The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain and the American Savings Foundation are partnering to bring critical and timely information to area nonprofit organizations. The two foundations are co-sponsoring a series of workshops to help nonprofit leaders imagine, plan and act on innovative strategies for the current economic environment.
The first workshop, entitled “Beating the Odds in Economic Downturns”, was presented May 5, 2009 by Heather Gowdy of LaPiana Associates. To view her presentation, click here. To view the article about the event in the New Britain Herald newspaper, click here.
A second workshop, “Collaborations, Alliances, Partnerships, and More: Winning Strategies for Uncertain Times” was held Sept. 14, 2009 and featured nonprofit consultant Jane Lennox. The presentation focused on helping executive directors and board leaders uncover some of best practices available for combining resources and partnering in innovative ways. For photos see below. A third workshop, entitled “Tough Times, Tough Decisions,” will be held in late fall. Presented by the ProBono Partnership, this next free session will look at the critical financial, staffing, real estate and other operations issues that nonprofits need to analyze as they consider their next steps.
