Chairman of the 2009 Celebrate Plainville! Selection Committee will be Linda Ferguson, Assistant Controller, Carling Technologies, Inc. Serving on the committee along with her will be: Dr. Kathleen Binkowski, Superintendent, Plainville Community Schools; Robert Frazee, Sales Manager and Loan Officer, Family Choice Mortgage; Signe Guzzo, Treasurer Heritage Freedom Trail LLC; Tabitha Manafort, community volunteer; Robin Lee Michel, Managing Editor, The Plainville Citizen; Gail Millerick, a Plainville resident and Director of Development, MidState Medical Center; Lynda Russell, Co-owner, The Window Shop, Inc.; and Richard Williams, President, The D.R. Templeman Co.

“This year’s committee features an outstanding cross-section of men and women who are committed to making Plainville a thriving, caring community. “We are extremely grateful for their ready willingness to help us select and recognize this year’s Celebrate! honoree,” said Community Foundation President Jim Williamson.

The Celebrate Plainville! award recipient, who will be announced in the spring, will earn the right to designate a $2,500 grant award from the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain to a Plainville charity or community service organization of their choice. The Community Foundation has earmarked a total of $10,000 in grant awards for the program in its four communities.

The Plainville Citizen serves as media sponsor of the award.
